36 weeks!!!

Wow, so I only have 4 weeks left!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. :) I can't believe it. We had our Dr apt yesterday. Lots to tell. We had to do the ultrasound first which we were so excited about because we got to see him again and make sure everything was ok. He wasn't moving a lot the night before and so I drank some OJ and we poked around at him but he wouldn't move. Mike was getting so worried, you could tell. He kept following me around the house poking at my stomach and asking if he had moved yet. He's going to be such a good dad. So anyways, we got in there and she said she was going to take all the boring measurements first, then we can see if we can see him and stuff. So she measured his head and all sorts of other things. At first he was measuring a week ahead, I was like woah, really?? But then after she measured everything else, it evened out and he was 36 weeks again. But she said he is already 6lbs!! :) That's great, but geez, I don't want him to get too big by 40 weeks. He will be about 7 or 7 1/2 lbs from what I understand. I was thinking he would be a small baby. So we finished up there, we got a few pics but they aren't that good because he doesn't have much room in there so he was all squished up. :) He is head down though and I got to see all the things that have been poking at me. They showed his feet right by my ribs, I was like I knew it! :) That hurts so bad!! It was cute though, he was making sucking motions with his lips already. She also confirmed again that he's a HE. We were a tiny bit nervous about that but all is good.

So we then headed over the my dr. (the sono is done in the hospital). She had to check me for step b which is a bacteria that some women carry and some don't. It's nothing big from what I understand for the mother, but can be really bad for the baby if it's passed on to him. So if a woman does have it, she has to have an IV with antibiotics or something in it so it doesn't pass on. It's weird. I have read a few times some women test positive for it with one of their kids but not the other? I dont even get what it is I guess. I just hope it's negative. :) She then also checked me to see if I was dialating at all, she said nope nothing goin on at all!!! I was like bummer, I was hoping for alittle something. But she said that doesn't really mean too much. Some women can be 2cm dialated by this point and still carry beyond their due date and some aren't dialated at all and can go into labor at any time. So we will see. It was NOT comfortable when she checked me though. I'm just glad that's only the second time in 9 months that I have had to be checked like that. :) We also discussed inducing and her rules on that and all sorts of things. So it was very informative this time.

Mike and i went walking last night and my stomach was just cramping like crazy and getting really tight. I'm doing everything she told me to do to get things moving, so we will see if that helps. She said he's pretty much full term, 37 weeks is officially full term, but she said if anything happened right now, they wouldn't stop labor since he's a good size and everything has formed. So that's good. :) She also said that I don't have to, but she leaves on the 3rd of July for her vacation for like 11 days, so if nothing has happened by July 1st, we can incduce then. So that's exciting. I just said as long as I'm dialating, I'm fine with inducing, but I just want my body to start doing things on its own first. I have this odd feeling that he will come early, not sure why. I have no idea though, so I could be totally wrong!! :) So now I go every week, so I get to see her again on Monday.

  1. Jill a half a pound a week, plus the 6.5 that he weighs now is 8.5 so I don't know where you optimistically keep getting 7.5
