This week has been pretty busy for us with baby stuff. Monday we had our infanct cpr and safety class, Tuesday I had my dr. apt, yesterday we met with an in home daycare lady, tomorrow we have our childbirth class ALL DAY and then SUnday we tour the hospital. Phew!! hehe. I guess I could have spread it out alittle better. :) Atleast Mike isnt' in school right now, I think that's why I did it that way.
So, we met with the in home daycare lady. We are split 50/50 on if we think we will take him there or not. We still have some research to do on her. She was really nice and had a nice home. She had a few issues we were concerned about. She has a dog, he's very very very friendly and we have 3 dogs anyways. It's not that the dog will be around Dylan, but I don't even trust my own dogs around my baby alone. I just want to make sure the dog won't be in the nursery with him alone or anything. I mean I want Dylan to grow up around dogs and loving dogs as much as Mike and I do, but not when he's a baby. I asked her if the dog is in there and she said that he wonders in every now and then but she will shew him out. He's a sweet sweet old dog, but you just never know what dogs are thinking, you never know what can happen. So we might ask her about that again. So another thing is that she is in a court battle with her grand kids. They had a drug addict mom, so the aunt took care of them who abused them. So this lady came in and took them out of her home and got custody of them. The aunt is trying to ruin her reputation as a daycare and post a lot of bad comments about her and stuff. I only know that part because I read tons of good reviews about her and one bad one. I asked her about it and she said it was the aunt and she has really put a damper on her business from the bad review but that we can call this person or this person to see the real situation and that she actually is saving these kids from an abusive home, not the one doing it. So while I respect her for taking them out of that situation and raising them, It still scares me having that situation going on while my kid is around. I asked her if they ever came to the house, or if she felt like they would ever do anything? She said no, but I'm sure she wouldn't say yes. So, this is a big one for us. This lady has been in business for 20 years and has only one bad review, which is the aunt, so it's hard for us to say no because of this one person, but it's still very scary! She would be about $330 less a month for us which is a big difference, but of course, no amount of money is worth our child being in danger. So, this is a tough one for us. We got about 5 names as references from her book that we are going to call. She is also certified in everything!! which is great. So, we are going to think about it and get back to her. Mike wants to see the Children's Courtyard (where we will be taking him if we don't take him here) and see how he feels about it. We just don't want Dylan to be sick every other day too. I know that happens when kids are in daycare, so we have a lot to think about. I'm sure anywhere I have to leave him, I'll be nervous!! :)
I am excited about our chidlbirth class tomorrow. it's so long though! I hope we get lots of breaks. I just hope I learn a thing or two from it. My main fear is panicking when everything starts to happen, so I'm hoping this will teach me how to remain calm. haha, yeah right. I'm sure it will all go out the window at the time. :)
Mike got his new suv. It's really nice. He is hesitant on raising it up as far as we discussed though. He just likes it low. I guess I'm learning to realize that guys who like fast cars and guys who like ghetto cars are pretty similiar. hehe. Guys who like fast cars like them low because it makes the car faster, which also can make it look ghetto a bit. We finally agreed that he raise it up almost an inch. It's not as low as his truck though, so that's good. I do have to admit too, it's really nice. I drove it home from Dallas the other night when we got stuck in an hour worth of stopped traffic at 10:00 at night (ugh, hate dallas!). It drives really smooth and is SO nice inside. it really is a nice suv. he really likes it, so that's good. Plus our payments are lower each month which is great too!!
Oh and Mike did GREAT on his classes. I'm so proud of him. He got great grades this semester. I decorated the house with congrats signs and way to go posters last night when he got home. and got him a cheesecake that says "you're #1" on it. Aren't I a good wife? haha. He liked it. I just wanted to show him that his hard work paid off and to keep pushing on so we can get him graduated!!
We have SO much to do this weekend. The list is forever long, but that's fine, keeps us busy!
Well, I'm off to the store and to run some other errands for the day. :)
